Dental implants and other systemic diseases

With a few exceptions, we can state that there are not contraindications for placing dental implants.

Due to several circumstances, many of them genetic, but mainly due to aging, we experience different pathologies. Fortunately, medical advances allow us to have a comfortable and almost normal life.

The number of pathologies is very extensive: diabetes, alterations of the thyroid function, alterations of the pituitary gland, alterations of the adrenal gland, myocardial infarction, arteriosclerosis, tuberculosis, sarcoidosis, Paget disease, fibrous dysplasia of bone, anaemia, neutropenia, immunosuppressant treatment,…

There are no obstacles for the dental implant if we take into account particular factors implicit in each of them and we make an adequate planning of the dental implant for each situation.
